Is the student center coming back this school year?

by Dillon Dildine / November 16, 2021

Before the start of the first week of the 2021-2022 school year Hannibal-LaGrange University’s Student Center was badly damaged in a storm. The roof was ripped off, the sides of the building were damaged, water filled up multiple spots in the center, but mostly, the top was flooded leaving much water damage. This led to the process of getting the building back to better then ever for the students.

Freshmen an transfer students haven’t even got the chance this year to experience the student center on the HLGU campus and upperclassmen are missing it. Student transfer Elizabeth Scott had this to say about the student center not being open to start the school year, “I have never experienced it, but when I toured, it looked amazing, and my friends that lived on campus previous years hyped it up so much! So, I really want to get the experience of the student center as a student here at HLGU.” Students are missing it, especially the ones who never had the experience of the student center.

At the moment, work to repair the student center is in full force. Workers are working day and night to get the student center up and running as soon as possible, working are on the roof repairing the most damaged part of the building. After the outside is repaired, the workers will move on to the inside of the student center.
