Lady Trojans fall short in homecoming soccer game against Williams Baptist

by Dillon Dildine / October 5, 2021

HLGU students and alumni gathered to watch some intense soccer action during homecoming last Saturday. The first game of the day was the HLGU Women’s soccer team against Williams Baptist. The Lady Trojans were able to get out to an early lead in the second half but were unable to hold the Eagles off.

Both teams started strong, but no goals were scored in the first half. With the game tied at 0-0, the Lady Trojans came out hot against the Eagles by scoring the first goal in the second half. But the the Eagles scored two after that with the Trojans unable to put one in the goal. Williams Baptist came out on top this time around.

Lady Trojans head coach Jason Nichols gave his reaction to the game: “We have to do better defensively. We have to be smarter. We’ll get better. Credit WBU for getting the win.”
