The Hannibal-LaGrange Men’s Soccer Team hosted Culver-Stockton College on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams love competing in this rivalry that has been going on for years and so do the fans as well. This was a game for the Trojans to show what they really have against the Wildcats.

Head coach of the Trojans had this to say, “It was great to get a shut out win at home. Time for us to focus on the weekend and traveling to Mt. Mercy.” This game was all HLGU, they put up two goals to CSC putting up a goose egg. Goals were by Mason McQueen and Alejandro Ruiz during this game. The Trojans had 24 shots on goal, very surprised only 2 went in out of all those shots.

The Trojans controlled the ball for almost the whole game and put a lot of pressure on the defensive line of Culver-Stockton, holding them to only 8 shots and only three were on goal. This game showed how great the defense of the Trojans can be, especially for the rest of the season. HLGU men’s soccer team has been getting better every game and are looking forward to conference play right around the corner.

The Trojans will be traveling to Mount Mercy University next to face off on Saturday, game time at 2pm. For more information about this game and ones coming up, go to hlg.trojans.com.
