The Hannibal-LaGrange University Outdoor Track and Field men and women participated in the AMC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This event was a two day event and was hosted at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri.
This was the last guaranteed meet for the athletes, and they gave it all they had. The team saw many individual PR’s set as well as relay PR’s set. The team had a few athletes become conference champs. They were Chase Gosvenor on the who had one amazing kick the last 100 meters to take 2nd place. On the women’s team, Makenzie Buckley took 2nd place in the race walk. Lauren Sisco took 2nd in the 5,000 meter race.
On the men’s side of track, the 5k was run by Chase Grosvenor who placed 2nd, Alec Whitener 6th, and Riley Kilethermes 14th. Men 4×400 placed 4th, 4×100 6th, 4×800 4th place. Cyle Butenhoff placed 5th in the 10k and 6th in the 1500m. In the 100 meter dash, Dillon Dildine made finals and placed 6th overall.
On the women’s side, the relays got 4th in the 4×400 and 5th in the 4×800. Laurn Sisco ran in the 5k and got 2nd place, and also Makenzie Buckley got 2nd in the race walk. Ellie Hudelson got 4th in the 800m. In the women’s throws, Alyssa Helmich got 6th in the hammer throw.
A very successful conference meet for the Trojans. They have several athletes that will be traveling to the NCCAA National Championships on May 12-14 in Greenville, Illinois. The event will be hosted by Greenville College. For more info go to hlgtrojans.com.
