The Hannibal-LaGrange track & field team has finished up indoor and has already started outdoor meets. Indoor season for the team was only one meet this year for the team. But, athletes gave it all they had. Personal records were broken, including a record broken by Isaiah Hoelscher in the throws for the team. He was coached by former thrower Logan Ross. Hoelscher said Ross taught him all he knows to be able to break the record.
Now the track & field team is off and full go into outdoor track. Dual sport athlete Destiny McClintock had this to say about the outdoor season: “We didn’t have an outdoor season last year due to COVID-19, but this season we are getting an outdoor season. This is my first, but I know we are ready and pumped to be able to compete after a long break we never wanted.”
The team has not had an outdoor season in over a year so they seem to be ready to get at it and give it all they got. The team has had one outdoor meet this season so far at Central Methodist University. It was a workout meet for most runners and a meet to see where everyone is at to start the season.
The men and women’s team still have a lot of meets coming up. So, to stay updated and to see when meets are, go to http://www.hlgtrojans.com.
