Hannibal-LaGrange University hosted their annual Booster Banquet on Friday, November 22. Each year the university brings in a guest speaker to talk to a crowd of donors and other community members who buy tickets to the event. The banquet is the school’s biggest fundraiser.
The evening includes a catered dinner, a chance to hear HLGU’s Praise Song and orchestra perform, and hear the speaker. Those with VIP tickets are able to attend a special reception before the dinner. This reception includes an opportunity to meet and take a picture with the speaker.
This year’s guest was Pam Tebow. Tebow is the mother of football/baseball player Tim Tebow. Pam Tebow recently released a book called Ripple Effects: discover the miraculous motivating power of a woman’s influence . Tebow included how proud that she is that HLGU is missions oriented and stands by their Christian values. She is proud that the school does not compromise on what they stand for.
When asked what she hopes the audience gets from the night, Tebow said “That investing in this school is worth it. Everyone is so all in and I love that. That’s rare and it’s exciting to see because people are very, very, very proud of this school. And it’s rare because they’re not a compromising Christian school. They really teach what they say they’re going to teach and the professors are very involved according to everyone that I’ve talked to.”
