Days before UFC 223 Conor McGregor flew across the world to confront another fighter. Khabib Nurmagomedov, who earlier in the week had an altercation with one of the Irishman’s teammates, Artem Lobov, was the target. McGregor and others were allegedly looking for retaliation and found the bus with Nurmagomedov inside of it.
McGregor made his presence known by throwing a dolly through one of the windows of the bus. This bus had multiple fighters who were participating on the card on it as they were looking to head back to the host hotel. McGregor has been charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of criminal mischief.
This event caused three fights to be pulled or changed and has led to many questioning McGregor’s future with the company. McGregor turned himself in to authorities but has since been let go and allowed to return to his family. If any further action is taken against him it remains to be seen.
McGregor now has been linked to potentially returning to the octagon later this year. These plans may have changed, but if not, his most recent antics may just make the company a lot more money if his next fight features Khabib.
