Both men’s and women’s basketball celebrated the careers of their seniors Saturday, February 24.
The women closed out their 17-18 season with a tough loss 55-62 against William Woods University. The women only have one senior this year. Kenna Greenway ended her career with a solid game. She scored 16 points and had 4 assists in the game. Additionally, Greenway currently ranks 12th in the NAIA with 71 made threes and 16th in threes made per game (2.536).
Coach Kelly Quigle shared, “We played very well today but came up short. I am very proud of this team and how they continued to improve and play together.” As for our senior, “Kenna has grown so much since her freshman year. She is coachable and a great kid. We are truly going to miss her as a teammate and a leader.”
The Men also played against William Woods University. The Trojans had six seniors to honor which are, Demetrius Early, Izack Hively, Adam Ingle, Bruce Ogalat, Tim Pace, and Reed Plunkett. The game took overtime to decide but the men fell 55-64. A rough end to regulation led to overtime where those struggles continued.
Brady Smith had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Early followed with 14 points, Tyrone Hueitt Jr. had 10, Ingle had 9, and Ogalat had 6 points. Hueitt Jr. was huge on the defensive end with three blocks and four steals. Senior Tim Pace was forced to miss playing due to injury.
Thank you to our six seniors. We wish you all the best in your next stage of life.
